David Hendy, MA, LPC

David is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Ohio. He earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. With over six years of experience in behavioral health, David has worked across diverse settings including private practice, inpatient care, school-based programs, and community mental health.

David views therapy as a collaborative partnership, an opportunity to help clients achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves. He works with clients of all ages and backgrounds, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, substance use, neurodivergence, psychosis, and suicidal ideation. He also helps clients navigate interpersonal conflicts and major life transitions.

His approach is client-centered and rooted in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and existential therapies. David is also pursuing certification in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Clients describe David as calm, empathetic, and easy to talk to. He strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore their emotions, gain insight, and build lasting coping skills.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, reading, watching live music, practicing mindfulness, and supporting local restaurants and businesses. He values self-care and encourages clients to engage in effective self-care practices as well.
