Emily Gohs
Emily Gohs is the Business Development & Administration Specialist at Sukoon Psychotherapy. She keeps front-desk operations, new-patient intakes, and scheduling running smoothly while helping the practice grow through community outreach and partnerships. She is often the first contact prospective clients and families speak with, and she works to make that first engagement clear, calm, and respectful.
Emily recognizes that first impressions rarely reflect the full complexity of an individual; behind every first impression is a whole person - with a past, dreams, worries, and feelings. Her interests in history, psychology, and anthropology are rooted in a desire to understand how culture and community shape people - and why those facing challenges are too often excluded rather than supported.
This perspective led Emily to earn a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati. Following a decade in specialty retail leadership and customer service, she spent more than four years supporting patients and families as the primary point of contact at a private psychiatry practice. Emily’s passion for mental health care comes from a simple belief: who we are is shaped not only by our bodies, but also by how we think and feel. She wants to help make care feel reachable, especially for children, older adults, and people who don’t know where to start or why they’re struggling. Across every role, her focus has remained the same: to see each person not as a name on a schedule, but as someone with a history, a life, a story, and people who care about them.
My Passion
While she spends her working days clacking away at a keyboard, Emily spends her free time disappearing into different worlds found within the pages of books – mostly romantasy, but a nice, gritty mafia-story helps shake things up.
Sometimes, she dives deep into the pixels of a video game, solving puzzles, mysteries or developing life on a barren planet.
When she resurfaces into reality, she enjoys discovering and re-appreciating the beauty and wonder of nature, or the warm and happy chaos of board games with her family.
